Perhaps my searching, for this is how the process appears to me, implies that there exists something lost. I try to find it, conducting my research between the cavities of this building and a now defunct slate quarry in mid-Wales.
Results have proved inconclusive - images that appear and disappear within various shades of grey. Meticulous gestures turn into acts of violence. I destroy as much as I clarify – tenuous links beginning to lead me elsewhere.
In mapping the origins of objects I start to discover certain histories irrevocably connected. My interpretations only thus – that one thing's disappearance allows the reappearance of another, elsewhere
…and that the naive aim toward resolution was misjudged – a misplaced trust in matter that has since been revealed as susceptible to evaporating in as little as a breath, and more then certainly within a gust of wind.
